Election Remark
Regarded as the "father of process systems engineering," British engineer Roger Sargent made groundbreaking contributions to the field. His work on optimization and control of chemical processes revolutionized how these systems are designed and operated. Sargent's research in algorithm development and mathematical modeling of process systems laid the foundation for much of modern process systems engineering, influencing both academic research and industrial practice. In 2001, he was elected as member of European Academy of Engineering.
