Election Remark
Pierre Agostini (French pronunciation; born 23 July 1941) is a French experimental physicist and Emeritus professor at Ohio State University, known for his pioneering work in strong-field laser physics and attosecond science.

He was elected as a member of the European Academy of Engineering in 2008. He is especially known for the observation of above-threshold ionization and the invention of the reconstruction of attosecond beating by interference of two-photon transitions (RABBITT) technique for characterization of attosecond light pulses.

He was jointly awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics.
