Ada E. Yonath is an Israeli crystallographer best known for her pioneering work on the structure of the ribosome, for which she received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009.

She is the director of the Helen and Milton A. Kimmelman Center for Biomolecular Structure and Assembly at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her research has greatly contributed to the understanding of the function of ribosomes in cells and has implications for antibiotic therapies.

She was elected as the member of the European Academy of Engineering in 2008.
