Bernt Schiele is a leading German computer scientist and authority on computer vision and perceptual computing. Born on November 3, 1968, in Neustadt, Schiele is notable for his roles as Max Planck Director at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and a professor at Saarland University.

His academic journey took him from the University of Karlsruhe to Ensimag, followed by a visiting researcher stint at Carnegie Mellon University.

After receiving his Ph.D. from the Grenoble Institute of Technology, Schiele furthered his research at ETH Zurich and MIT.
