Philippe H. Geubelle, an esteemed aerospace engineer, has made significant contributions to the field through his extensive academic journey.

With a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain and a M.Sc. from the California Institute of Technology, he went on to earn a Ph.D. in Aeronautics, delving into the nonlinear analysis of interface fracture.

His career progressed from postdoctoral research at Harvard to a distinguished professorship at the University of Illinois, where he now serves as Department Head.

His expertise in aerospace engineering is further exemplified by his directorship of the Illinois Space Grant Consortium, reinforcing his commitment to advancing aerospace education and research.

He was elected as member of the Euorpean Academy of Engineering in 2016.
