Election Remark
Edward F. Crawley, a distinguished Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT, has made substantial contributions to space systems, systems architecture, and engineering. His career includes co-chairing the NASA Exploration Technology Development Program and shaping the international space program.

Recognized by the National Academy of Engineering in 1998, his work in control-structure interaction has had significant terrestrial and extraterrestrial impact.

Crawley extended his expertise internationally as a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and served as the President of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

With advanced degrees from MIT, he has also been instrumental in founding the MIT System Design and Management graduate program.

He was elected as member of the Euorpean Academy of Engineering in 2010 and promoted as Emeritus member in 2022.
