Daniel Weihs, an influential figure in Israeli science and aerospace engineering, holds the prestigious Louis and Lyra Richmond Chair of Life Sciences at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Born in China to Austrian parents who escaped during World War II, Weihs later settled in Israel, embarking on a prominent academic career.

A Technion alumnus thrice over, he transformed his educational foundation into a lifelong tenure, educating generations since 1973 and achieving the rank of Distinguished Professor Emeritus.

Weihs shaped the institution's direction through various leadership roles, including as Dean and Provost, and actively heads its Autonomous Systems Program.
